Description: The URC-68 is a combination UHF-AM/VHF-FM transceiver with a capability of voice or CW operation on 3 crystal-controlled channels in each band. There is an emergency frequency in each band and a beacon mode on each emergency channel which allows the operator to select automatic swept-tone continuous transmission on either channel or on both simultaneously. The URC-68 is designed for use by downed aircrewmen as a homing beacon and for air-to-ground communications. Current tactical speech security equipment is not compatable with the URC-68; therefore, secure voice is not a mode of operation.
