The 7784 is a high-mu, metal-and-ceramic triode intended for operation as a grounded-grid, Class A, radio-frequency amplifier at frequencies as high as 3000 MHz.
Features of the tube include small size, planar electrode construction with close spacing, inherent rigidity, and an envelope structure convienient for coaxial circuit applications.
At 1200 MHz a noise figure of less than 8.5 decibels may be obtained when the 7784 is used in a grounded-grid coaxial circuit. The 7784 differs from the 6299 only in having an isolated heater.
